We collect your email address if you give it to us, and your name, postal address and phone number only if you buy the Guided Path and need a book shipped. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe and we never see or store your card details. We use Google Analytics to count visits. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with ibogaine clinics or providers, and you can have everything deleted by emailing contact@ibogainecourse.org.
The Ibogaine Course is operated by The Wild Classroom. If you have a question about anything here, or you want your data removed, email contact@ibogainecourse.org and a person will answer you.
What we collect
If you download the free vetting checklist or join the list
We collect the email address you type into the form. Some forms also ask optional free-text questions, such as why you are considering ibogaine. Those answers are stored with your email address. We record which page the form was submitted from so we know what people find useful.
If you buy the course
Payment is processed by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted checkout page. Your card number never touches this website and we never see it or store it. Stripe passes back to us your email address and the fact that a purchase succeeded.
If you buy the Guided Path, which includes a physical book, we also ask for your name, postal address and phone number so the book can be shipped. That shipping information is stored on your customer record inside Stripe, not in a separate database of our own.
While you take the course
Signing in uses your email address only. There are no passwords on this site by design, so there is no password of yours for us to lose. We store your course progress, meaning which lessons you have completed and when you were last active, on your customer record inside Stripe so your place is not lost if you switch devices.
Automatically, when anyone visits
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they stop. To tell a returning visitor from a new one, your browser stores a randomly generated identifier under the key ibogaine_uid. That identifier is not linked to your name or email address, and Google's own terms forbid us from sending personally identifying information to Analytics. Your browser also stores a small number of values that remember whether you are signed in and whether a purchase has already been counted.
Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting the site.
What we do not collect, and what we never do
- We do not ask for, collect, or store any medical or health information about you. Please do not send us any. If you tell us something about your health in an email, we are not treating it as a medical record and we are not qualified to advise on it.
- We never see or store card numbers. Stripe handles all of that.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, for any amount, ever.
- We do not share your details with ibogaine clinics, retreats, or providers. If a provider contacts you claiming we passed on your information, they are lying. Tell us.
- We do not run advertising trackers or retargeting pixels on this site.
How we make money
We tell you this because it is the honest way to read everything else on the site. We make money in one way: people buying the course. That is it.
We do not earn affiliate commissions, referral fees, or finder's fees from any provider, clinic, retreat, book, or product linked anywhere on this site. When we link to a retreat or a practitioner, it is because we think you should be able to look at them, and we receive nothing if you do. No provider pays to be mentioned here, and no amount of money would buy a mention.
One thing we do want on the record, because it is the sort of thing you deserve to weigh for yourself: when Rob and Haley travelled to Sayulita Wellness Retreat to film, the retreat hosted them at no charge. They agreed in advance that the full and true story would be told regardless, and it was, including the parts that were unflattering or frightening. That stay is described openly inside the course. It was a one-time arrangement, it is over, and there is no ongoing financial relationship with them or with anyone else we write about.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of outside services to run the site. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job.

On the YouTube point, one deliberate choice is worth explaining. Videos on this site are shown as a still image with a play button rather than as a live YouTube player. YouTube receives nothing about you, and sets no cookies, unless and until you actually click play. If you never press play, YouTube never learns you were here.
Why we are allowed to hold it
If you are in the UK, the EU, or somewhere else with similar rules, the legal bases we rely on are: your consent, when you type your email into a form; performance of a contract, when you buy the course and we need to deliver it and ship your book; and legitimate interests, for basic analytics and for keeping the site secure and working.
How long we keep it
- Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
- Purchase and customer records: retained by Stripe for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. Course access is intended to be lifetime access, so your record stays for as long as you may want to use the course.
- Shipping details: kept only as long as needed to get the book to you and handle any delivery problem.
- Analytics: retained according to Google Analytics settings, and never tied to your name.
Your rights, and how to actually use them
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable form. You can withdraw consent at any time. Depending on where you live these rights come from the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, but we will honour the request regardless of where you are, because it is the right thing to do.
To use any of them, email contact@ibogainecourse.org. We will not make you prove a legal basis, fill in a form, or explain yourself. We aim to respond within 30 days. The one limit is that we may need to keep records of a completed purchase where tax law requires it.
People research ibogaine for reasons they may not want attached to their name, and we take that seriously. You can read every article on this site without giving us anything at all. Nothing on these pages requires an account, and the free checklist is also available without a form on our checklist page. If you would rather sign up with an email address that is not your main one, that is a completely reasonable thing to do and it will not affect your access.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to count visits. Beyond that, the site stores a few values in your browser's local storage: the anonymous analytics identifier, a record of whether a purchase has already been counted so it is not double counted, and your signed-in session. You can clear all of it at any time through your browser settings, and the site will still work.
Children
This site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security, stated honestly
Payments and customer records live with Stripe, which is PCI compliant and considerably better at security than a small education company could be alone. The site is served over HTTPS. Because sign-in is by email address with no password, anyone with access to your email inbox could reach your course account, which is the trade-off for not storing passwords. No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that plainly than promise otherwise.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who handles it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting people already on our list will be sent by email rather than quietly published here.
